Serial # 2518908

This number is within the range that fits, but how do I know for sure? I checked the websites that people have posted but I cant find anything that matches this number. My Grandfather gave me this 14' runabout that he bought new in 1969. I would love to get it running and looking good again. Thanks for your time.

Thank you both so much!

This boat is a 69 Silverline Swift 14'. Its cool that the motor is probably the original that it came with. I am hoping that this project isnt way over my head. If you know a good way to get a manual for a fair price will you let me know. Thanks again for confirming what I was hoping.

Dan, I have a motor with a very close serial number to yours, and it's a 1969 for sure as others have pointed out. My boat, purchased just recently, is also a 1969, a Sea Fury 15-1/2 foot bowrider type built by Palmer Boat Company in Florida. The hull's in perfect shape, so I'm concentrating on engine restoration and repair ... after changing the wiring harness, she's running, but a bit rough, so I've got some work to do. :)

Good to know there are other '69 Merc 500s out there!

Dan, you will NEVER find another motor with that serial number. Serial numbers are sequential, your number is unique.
