ok i have a 87 4.3l omc cobra outdrive on a 16' thundercraft. I have a 14.25r19 stainless prop and will hit only 25-35mph on a good day @ 3000rpms, and then it starts to spit and sputter abit. I checked my drive bellow its not leaking, changed gear oil, changed plugs, added fuel water remover and, changed the fuel water seperator filter. It still did the same thing. I was told it may be my prop being too heavy, so I went out and got an aluminum prop 14 1/2 19 will this be better for my boat? what would ya'll recomend?

You're going Lean at High RPMs,.............

Fix the Carb. 1st,........... Then worry about the Prop........

sounds exactly like there is water in the fuel bowl of the carb, and or in the gas tank.

do you have a fuel / water seporator? change that.
