Ok, when I start up the motor it is giving me 13.8 vdc. Within minutes...the voltage jumps up to 14.8 vdc like if I'm trottling up. But I'm not. I'm just flushing the engine and starting it once a week when I'm not headed out.
It's a 2000 150 v6 and I charge my batteries the night before I fire up my boat. It has done this with different batteries.
Also...when I go WOT I look at the voltage and I'm getting a constant 14.8. What do you gents think? I'm hoping it's not on it's last leg or something like that ,but doing alot of searching...it looks like I'm supposed to be getting around 13.8 'til I gun it. It shouldn't be giving me that reading while I'm just running it once a week, so I don't gum up anything.

Might want to compare those readings by using a hand held volt meter across the battery terminals before and after starting and running on hose.14.8 is not dangerously high at wot.

Thx gents. When I'm at WOT I have my father-in-law check the batt. with a meter while I drive the boat. Yep!! it's at 14.8. It is also confirmed with my Lorance. It also gives me a constant reading on it's display. Whew.... :D

Be sure not to run it at WOT on the clamshell.
