Is replacing seals hard?

I am having problems with my tilt/trim which I am almost sure is something internal with hydraulics(seal/stuck valve). I have the manual for my system. Is it a bad idea for me to try and follow the procedures outlined there for servicing as I have never done this before? Looks like it might be a little to complex. Just looking for insight from someone who might have attempted this before.

If you have the right tools, and are mechanical inclined, then you can do it. There are lots of people here that can help if you have questions.
Getting over the "if I can's" is the biggest part.
