is ther any paint stripper that wont damage gelcoat??

Some previous owner of my current boat . painted and cleared about 4 square feet of one side.Is ther anything I can apply that wont tear up the gelcoat but will soften the paint??

Don't know any brands but Just make sure there is NO methlyene chloride in it if you try something.

I recently used aircraft paint stripper made for fiberglass. Don't recall the name at this time...got it at Worse.....um....West Marine. Check here on iboats.
