Is there a boat for me?

It's silly question time . . .

I have posted elsewhere that I'm looking at an 89 Bayliner cuddy 19.5, and I also have an 85 Wellcraft 23 Nova XL in my sights, and after hearing various comments here I am doing searches on other brands as well. As I do so it begins to dawn on me that I may not actually be able to satisfy my actual "wants" which I hadn't actually sat down and identified.

The one thing I have disliked about the sleek powerboat I/Os I've passengered in and driven in times past has been the inability to cruise at a moderate pace in a relatively peaceful mode, enjoying the sights and the evening breeze.

That, and I would like to have a motorboat for the inland lake we live on and something my wife and I (and fluffy little dog) can weekend on in the thousand islands of Lake Ontario (or maybe even down to Toronto or Niagara-on-the-Lake for a Play?).

All this and a budget of $4 or $5K? Am I dreaming in technicolor?

Hey, anything is possible:) I say be patient and get something that you really want and will meet your needs, don't settle, you wont be happy with it.

Sounds like you are looking for a pontoon and you may be able to actually get one on your budget, to come into a glass boat for that money that doesn't need major work is going to be a trick, it can be done but most glass boats in that price range are pretty old and neglected.

Just a thought.
