Is there a quick way to find an on-line moderator?

I was wondering is there a fast way to find an on-line moderator if you have a question or concern? I was wondering because I sent a concern to one only to realize he was off-line. So I went through the ones whos names I could remember and they were all off-line.

Just would be nice to know for future reference.

Thad, I can see a little green circle by your name that indicates that you are on line now. Maybe have to find a post you know a mod has been on and see if the green circle is there??

LOL, But it's fun sometimes too:D
Thad you could put them on the Buddy list for a quick to see if their online, And if one is then you'll know, Alot of them don't want PM's anyway.

The green dot is how I figured out he was not on-line. It was not green. So then I went through the ones whos names I could remember, but none of them were on-line also.

I was just informed I could use the "report this thread" option and it goes to all mods. But I do not see that link.
Maybe I am going blind.

I know a lot do not like PM's, but if something is deemed important or apropriate, I think they understand.

in the banner of each post (when you're logged in) is a red bordered triangle....that's to report posts

Yeah, sorry Thad. I should've said "red triangle" in the PM. What happens when you hit that button is a dialogue box comes up, you write out a note and then an email is sent to all of the Mods. I think I was taking my kid to school . . . :)

Edit: Right now it looks like I am the only Mod online, but there is a time out on the green light. So a mod could be online, but had not posted anything for a while and then it would look like they were offline. The email would trigger a look see. I am guessing I find only 25% of the posts or threads that I edit/delete on my own. The others come from the red triangle . . . Keep up the help guys!!

sending a PM, comes to our personal email. also the red triangle report goes to all moderators personal email. Most of us do hold down full time jobs, and can't be at the computer, as much as we would like.

Let's talk realistic expectations.

This is not a chatroom. It is a message board. Volunteer Moderators all have other lives beside iboats.

If you have a question, PM. Then wait patiently. If it is urgent, report your post. Then wait patiently.

I can not honestly see why we would need an "emergency moderator" out here. All of them spend a lot of time out here on a daily basis as it is.
Patience is a virtue when waiting for a response. Remember their time and efforts are voluntary as well.

also questions about your particular motor should be posted in the forum. not sent to a moderator asking for special attention. we will not do it. you get more attention in the correct forum.

At the bottom of the main forums page is a list of everyone that is currently active.

I believe the moderators are listed first in that list.

Mine could be different, but not on my screen. All alphabetical except I am listed first . . .

Re: Is there a quick way to find an on-line moderator?

I understand that this is a volunteer moderator thing. And I did not ask about any motors:confused:

I just saw a couple of threads that I thought were inappropriate and wanted to report them. I did not know how to do it. I was not in a hurry. I just wondered how to alert a mod. Now I know.

Thanx

I am a moderator on a fishing web site and in the list that shows who is online, my name is a different color than regular members. Maybe iboats could set theirs that way? Still, using the report a post option is best.
