Re: Is there a safe way to do this?
Well, it looks like I'm getting two axles for right around $800. I guess I could get just one to be cheaper, but being that I don't have the proper tow vehicle, maybe having 4 brakes will somewhat make up for the inability of my vehicle. There's really no such thing as stopping too fast in an emergency right? Also, the axles are actually being fabricated, for the sake of uniformity, I suppose it's probably best they match?
I don't know where the rest of you are, but the only "trucks" around here from U-Haul are the V6s with 2WD. I mean I can pull the boat out with my truck in 2WD, but to not even have the option if I get stuck is not good.
I do really appreciate the help everyone, I have since ordered the new axles/brakes, and the boat will stay safely in storage over the week. Also these new axles have this EZ Lube system that my trailer guy was pretty excited about.
