Is There a Source for Online OMC Engine Parts?

Well, Captain Idiot here waited just a little too long for his winterization. Now I am told my 1989 OMC/Cobra 5.8L has a cracked starboard exh. manifold, a cracked power steering cooler, and needs a port head. AAARRRGGHH!

And these repairs would need to be done before the boat could be run hard in the lake to fully evaluate the rest of the engine.

Are there any reliable online sources for these parts, or should I just go with the shop's estimate and be done with it? I'm trying hard to save on this repair as I am already working on two tax bills!! And, yeah, I know, don't wait so late next time.

Check at Ebasicpower.com.

I wish I could recommend Iboats, but they have very little availabilty on OMC sterndrive parts.

Change both manifolds, not just the one.

Yeah, can you believe freezing in Dallas. Check this out--the wednesday before, it was in the 70's! We see maybe 3-5 days of truly freezing weather a year, and this year I happened to own a boat. Joy.

???????

Why not just do alittle Isolating with hoses,+ clamps.......
Then you can Pressure Test the Block......

Granted,..... The Cracked Head will complicate things abit,.......
But,....
There's No Reason to Rebuilt it,..... Just to SEE if there's Anymore Damage............
