Was wanting to know how I can check my switch to make sure it is the switch itself that caused my motor to trim itself up on its own and stayed there.
We took on some water a few days ago and my omc handle switch was broke anyway, so I took it out of the throttle handle. after we got back to shore and was able to drain the salt water out of the hull(bildge was not working) the tilt n trim was working then but when we got to the lake to run it around and flush out the motor we just left the dock and I could not get the switch to trim up it was doing its own thing I would trim up it would go but not stop when I released the switch, then when I tried to get the motor to trim down all it does is make a humming noise when I click the switch up or down so before I start loading bucks into relays and wires is there a way to check if it is actually the switch a test of any.
