Is there a way to hook alligator clips without cutting them?

I am wanting to hook my trolling motor up to the front of my jon boat. I have put a deck on the front and the battery is located in the back. The trolling motor has alligator clips but it is a barrowed motor untill I get mine. It has alligator clips on it and I dont want to cut them off to hook them up to the battery that is located in the rear of the boat. Do they make some kind of adapter or something I can mount on the wood that I can hook up so I can just attach the alligator clips to.

Thanks,
Eric

I was thinkin they would make some kind of adapter that would go to the front of the boat that would have a positive on one side and a negative on the other. That way you could hook up the alligator clips that way.

If it was mine I'd solder a penny to a heavy gage wire, one red and one black (you can't buy this setup for two cents) and slide a shrink wrap on to the heavy gage wires separately and run the wires to the back of the boat to the battery. Then clip the clips to the penny's, check motor and if it runs, wrap the clips and penny's with electrical tape and cover with the shrink wrap and heat to shrink. Just my opinion, hope this helps.

Even just a piece of wood with two bolts on it. Run your wire from the back to the wood with a circle connector and bolt the connectors and bolts to the wood. Then just clip the clips on the appropriate bolt.
