The electric wire sending pulses to your tacometer sends 12 volt pulses.How about splicing a fitting into that wire and putting in a 12 volt bulb?
I tried this, but it ended up being a blinking led light at low rpms and it was a bit distracting everytime the light blinks. it is a fast blink but still was a bit distracting especcialy at night.. so I went with bustermins idea, works pretty good.
