I'm new to the starcraft world but love this little boat but really want to see it have a windshield. the ID plate and hull number are missing. Can anyone help me identify what model this is. Any pointers on how I can come across a windshield would be helpful as well. Current owner says he has the mounting hardware but no glass.

Thanks much for your help!!

That's a nice looking boat. It might be tough to find the correct windshield, but most guys find ones from donor boats and just kind of make them work. The key is to get one from a boat with similar dimensions. That boat looks like it could be a lot of fun without a lot of work. And I almost forgot... Welcome!

thanks for the info rheagler. I have already started looking for a donor but was wondering if anyone might be able to help me confirm it is a jet star - V and what a reasonable value might be given the condition.

Well it may be a 69 but it's doubtful. A couple of things lead me to beleive it's a 64. The ad says it was redone like 8-10 years ago so the paint could be new but if you look at the white rubrails, and more importantly the inside of the gunwales. The 64 slopes towards the stern and the 69 doesn't. Also the 64 has a more pointed bow.

As far as I'm concerned, it doesnt matter from a financial standpoint whether it's a 64 or 69 and I don't know what boats go for in your area. The boat does look fairly clean and we see these 15 footers needing some fixing up go for as little 3 or 4 hundred so if you were patient you might be able to get a windshield.

And I still haven't figured out why Starcraft decided to end everything with a V in 69??? It's not like they changed the hull or anything. Maybe someone out your way can chime in here about whether you should pay 1500 for it.

This is the 64 Jet Star

Re: Is this a 1969 jet star - V???

thanks for the info guys. So, the next question I have is if I find a donor and peel off whatever I want, what do I do with the "remains"???

I've had some fun looking at all the brochures from "64 thru '70 trying to figure out what year this boat might actually be. There all starting to look the same to me!

I'm going to head out to take a test ride in the boat this week. Any pointers on things, issues, I should look for?? I'm not in the market for a total restoration, but won't shy away from minor issues that I can takle this winter.
