Ok I've had enough trying to get this old wore out 1986 175Blackmax to run right. So I need a new motor. I ran across a complete 1988 200Hp powerhead freshly re-ringed and bearings changed. It has been ran 4 hours on a dyno. I can get it for very little $$. I was told it would drop right on what I have now. However, is this a smart thing to do or should I get a newer model motor? I know a newer motor will get better gas mileage, but how much in real world numbers are we talking here? I like the smoothness and new look to the newer motors, but I know I won't be able to work on one of these computerized beasts, so that is going to cost when it does break. I like the reliability of an old fashioned carb and light the fire with as few ignition componets as possible.
