Hard to tell- see if you can take it out for a test run. People today are dumping luxury items like boats so he might really need the cash. Approach sceptically....

Price looks a little high for that boat with gas engines around here. Most stuff that big has diesels.

IDK Looks legit to me... he even gives his phone #... but you never know.

Says twin 454's which means its a gasoline cruiser (not diesel), that thing has to suck down gas like no tomorrow... maybe he wants to get something with better fuel economy heheh.

Then again, if you can afford a boat like that, you can probably afford the gas too...

It might be starting to be a money pit for him. It's 17 years old. I would be thinking to get it closer to $30k and no matter what he says I would have it in the back of my mind that I'm going to need to put $5k into it this year or next. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Could be a divorce thing. I don't wish that on anyone, but some great deals have resulted from liquidation, also revenge selling.

i would recommend you spend some money and get a survey. with a 1993 boat there could be a lot of surprises that you can't see or pickup with just a test ride.

Here's my thought.......the boat is supposed to be worth twice his asking price, if so then why. I'll find that out, if this thing is real, before I give him a nickel. Then I'll have it surveyed and if all is cool, bring it up here to Canada and hopefully sell it for it's real honest worth.....$85-$125,000 and go on a shopping trip for a newer boat for myself. I am in desperate need of a walk through transom, my boat doesn't have that, and climbing over the side is just becoming more difficult as each day passes. All back issues.

I think that price is high if anything. Look at other comparable models that size and age, and with gas engines. He must think people are too dumb or lazy to research the actual value, but there is no way that thing can run up to $80K. If so, I would be shocked.
