is this a spark plug issue

I have a 93 johnson 150 outboard. Recently when I put it in the water the engine will start but will die in a few seconds unless I give it gas I have a hot foot and when I press it will stay running as soon as I let off the pedal the engine will cut off. Any suggestions. And also when its running it will not go over 7 mph

Honestly I would have no idea I bought it from a guy when I bought it everything was workng good then like a few weeks later it startd having all sorts of problems fixed those issues now I have this issue

I'm dealing with a similar problem right now with my 90 hp evinrude. The quickest easiest thing to do is a spark test with a spark tester set to 7/16" gap. I would pop a set of plugs in it anyway if you don't know how old they are. My problem turned out to be a bad coil pack.
