1986 v-4 90hp longshaft<br />Can anyone tell me if this manual lever is available separately? As you can see, the previous owner kept it!... Part # ?<br /><br />Thanks <br />

That's called a maintenence valve, p/n 175158 about $5.00 - I would suggest replacing the cap and gasket. Chances are when the valve broke the cap took a hit too. If its cracked it will leak fuel (not good). Cap and gasket are available under p/n 437228, about $10.00 - See your local Johnson/Evinrude dealer.<br /><br />-John

Thanks John FI<br /><br />Very little documentation on the function of this lever. I just ASSUMED it was used to prime manually. Never used one....Can you enlighten me on its purpose?

If you had to rope start a cold motor, you would flip the lever to the prime position (to the left in your picture). Once started it must be returned to the run position (to the right in your pic). For normal operation it needs to be in the run position or the motor will flood out.<br /><br />-John

So its more or less a fuel bypass valve which allows fuel pressure to escape into the intake manifold. Cool....<br /><br />One last pest from me....Can you give me a part# for this rubber bumper on same engine?<br /><br />Thanks...<br />

The bumper is p/n 313581, two are required (1 on the port side and 1 on the starboard side).<br /><br />-John
