Is this bad?

Tool off the safety cable and the winch cable at the top of the ramp. Boat slid down into the water . Didnt think it was damaged so we used the boat for about an hour, Once loaded on the trailer found this.

Its bad. Im suprised you run it an hour with no lube and it didnt completly fail.

I saw that happen at a ramp last year.
It was a fiberglass boat with about a 50hp on it.
Must have slid 40 feet and the motor was down.
The guy hopped in and went boating.

And it was getting dark.

A Real Man, known as a Welder, can usually find a way to weld damn near anything. Beats drilling and bolting any day.

A buddy of mine had about a dime sized hole in that same spot on his Alpha. He was too broke to get it fixed and asked for my help.........I JB welded a quarter over the hole and we re-filled the drive. I sh*t you not he ran that boat all Summer like that. He didnt lose the propshaft until a mid September WOT run!!!
