I've had it a year or two. Bought it for the trailer actually but have not got rid of it yet.It is a cool looking old boat. But it'd need a floor probably and a transom probably... Is it worth saving? Any comments? I usually work on engines only and don't do much with boats...

The hull actually looks to be in good shape.

"worth saving" is largely a function of the value of your time, which includes how you like to spend it. Because I can be on the water much of the year I don't want a long dry-land project; those with long winters and nothing else to do would think otherwise. Also, while I enjoy tinkering and fixing my own stuff, I'd rather be fishing than rebuilding a major component, and I don't have much free time as it is. So to me, no, but there are lots of guys here who would take it on.
Here's the follow-up question to move from opinion to information: for those who have done it: time and materials for a transom, and same on a floor, for a 16' runabout with a gutted interior?
(The gutted interior is important b/c it would be more time consuming to work around salvageable interior or interior you want to preserve.)

That's going to take a great deal of money to get into shape. Outboard, seats, new decking...... yes it is a nice boat but, you would have to be in love with it.

Seeing as you own it, I would say if you want to spend $500 - $1000 to replace the transom, deck and stringers and you have a need for a boat like that, then go for it.

Otherwise, sell it cheap. It would make a great project for someone.

Fibreglass boats are a dime a dozen up here.

Re: Is this boat worth saving/restoring?

THANK YOU SAM-OTT!

I have almost the exact same hull and have been looking for a manufacturer. I now know I have a Custom Craft.

The fins on mine are slightly different (probably a different year) but the side swoosh and flared bow are the same, as is the transom.

Worth saving--definitely! Mine is a 14 footer completely rebuilt with a 125 on the back. Eventually (when I get a round "Tuit") I will be painting her a three color scheme.

If you were closer, I would take that boat in a New York Minute!

A 125? wow. This one is rated for an 85. Do you have pics of yours?

And they're built in Rockland, Ontario, just outside of Ottawa where I am. SE PA is far away from here.
