Should be two Allen setscrews coming in from front and back to clamp down onto the wire. Something doesn't look right, but I can't figure out what.

Someone has put a cable adapter kit on it so it can use the newer cables

Makes alot of sense when i was shopping for a new throttle cable and i would show my current cable to marine parts store they said it's incorrect and that i need a omc long life cable... althought what Im trying to figure out is the pin holding the cable in. Its not a allen unless it was stripped by PO and there rounded or a friend of my mine was saying its a riviet and you gotta drill it out but id rather confirm 100% first that is a riviet before i start drilling stuff

Try an easy out first to see if it grabs it and screws it out. If you have a good cordless drill/impact gun they make some that have a drill tip on one end to drill a pilot hole and the easy out tip on the other end. Obviously the drill or impact gun has be be reversible. Pretty cheap, easy test.
