I have an 90hp sportsjet,oe067119.Rings gone in middle pistion,can I just unbolt that badboy hone it out and throw in new rings,and pistion if needed.just looks to easy,Iv got cabs off and can see bolts on K-rod.Am i just asking for trouble if I do this.

It's considered acceptable practice w/ OB's to rework the bad cylinder(s) only, but you will likely have to have that hole bored to the first oversize which cleans up any grooves. Just honing and putting std size piston and rings usually doesn't cut it.<br /><br />While you're at it, you need to find out why the failure occured, or it will likely happen again.

THanks,I belive part do to,last summer the inpeller took a hard hit that stalled it, after new inpeller I had big power loss,taking off the fuel recirlater I seemed to be missing some rings,so it must of bin that hit stopping the moter in it's tracks.A few reeds dont make that (chunk) sound and Ill be rebuilding the carbbs.Is it true that I can make it into a 120hp just buy jet size and timming.That would make this all worth while.Again Thank u 4 the help.
