Even if it needs work.....tin restoration work is easier and cheaper then any other boat.

The hip replacement will be fine. I just had my L knee replaced and I am scheduled for the R one in July. Based on people who have had hips and knees done......the hip is actually an easier recovery. Good luck with that.

Re: is this really a mirrocraft?

looks like a good deal, but alot further than i would like to drive. allready lookin at 100 bucks a round trip to "look" at a boat in north east WI. money adds up fast when were talkin boats in that price range. not that I couldnt buy that boat redo it and still be ahead. trying not to get a champagne taste with only a beer budget. but i want to be out on the lake this summer and save any work for this winter. yeah i know i shoulda bought a boat last fall but at that time I had still dreams to be back on the bike one day. i know this probably doesnt sound right but i think i would like to stay around the 16 range with some of the smaller lakes i like to fish. deadheads are unpredictable and bottom is hard to read. couple feet of your "normal" course and easily destroy a boat on rocks. learned the hard way with the 14er putting her up on gravel banks in areas that i had just trolled thru. many of times i had to chop the throttle off and yank the motor up in a hurry at plane due to ending up in much shallower water than expected. luckly that boat still floats good and isnt too beat up believe it or not.

Re: is this really a mirrocraft?

some of the boats ive been eyein up. in anticipation of selling the bike. there are some others but a in pretty rough condition (visually) some might just need a good cleaning.

the 18's are pretty desirable for used at our camp on lake michigan however i only seem to make it down there 2-3 times a summer, maybe if i had a descent boat i would be down there more often (now thats a thought), second problem is our tow vehicle(s). either be using my wife's 05 grand cherokee with the small v-6 which i allready know will strugle to pull even a 16 as it is gutless and the second vehicle will be my ford explorer which i know will have the arse to pull it (5.13 gears)but will be pushed all over the place due to very flexy suspension

No, that would be your truck.
I already have 2 18's, a 16, a 14, and dad's 16' sitting in the yard and shed.

Re: is this really a mirrocraft?

Thats a truck. You should be looking at that 18'er.

Those 18' Starcraft or Sylvan open bow boats, full rigged go about 1900#, including the trailer.
The hull itself is only 950#.

That Blue Fin looks nice, and will weigh in at about 1300# with the trailer.

Or this 16'er.

Re: is this really a mirrocraft?

why cant these boats be closer!

on a side note maybe I need to start a different thread , "hunt for good aluminum boat" since the question is no longer what the make of the boat is. haha

I do really appreciate all of the input. nice to have a great group of people that know their boats and are willing to help
