Just FYI - if/when you shop for the Navman, price shop the Standard Horizon unit. I believe they are the same unit, just re-badged slightly. Either way, the SH unit is the same size, uses the same pickup and has the same features, so it's worth considering. I have a SH (which I bought because they happened to have a rebate at that time, so it was cheaper than the Navman). I'm very happy with it, after they replaced the original which was defective. 2 seasons now, A-OK.

I bought the navman fishfinder/fuel monitor combination for $500 new. The stand alone fuel monitor costs somewhere between $200 and $350. I got an "extra" fishfinder for a few more $. The color fishfinder is nice as an extra bottom machine, but the fuel monitor is worth the cost. I want to know if I have 50 gallons of fuel left in the tank, not a bouncing gauge that shows "about 1/3 tank". It's easy to use and reasonably accurate.

Trophy, I have a similar setup and agree with your favorable comments but if ever you consider buying a G.P.S. (or upgrading) find a unit that will interface with the fuel monitor. The fuel monitoring features greatly improve.<br /><br />Aldo
