Is this sterndrive worth a 2 hour drive?

The $800 repair is excluding gears. I was told it is a 5-6 hour job which sounds a little high for someone who knows what they are doing. The new drive is an SEI he bought in 2013 (never used) as a replacement drive for a 1978-1979 228HP Mercruiser engine I'm assuming when SEI builds replacement drives they are not copying the old version, but something compatible with the old version. Looking at there website it shows an SEI106 covers years 1977-1990 so I'm guessing this is what it is. I'll find out Sunday.

Thanks. I ended up buying it this afternoon. It's a SEI106 - bought in 2013 and never touched water. After he mounted it he tried drilling into the stern to mount a fish finder and found the stern was all rotted. He never did anything with it and decided he was going to convert all his boats (he has 3) to outboards (easier to work on). So that's it. It looks like a perfect match for what I have. Thanks t all for the advice.
