Is this the right thermostat for my 4.3GL???

I believe I have a GL-C or GL-D (2004 model made in 2003) and I have a standard raw water cooling system. There is a review that scares me it might be the wrong part.

Seems to be the right part as it is described. Looks like one person's order was bungled by Sierra. If that happens to you I am sure Sierra will make it right.

Do I need to use any kind of sealant on the state or o-ring? There are some vids online that show yes but I've never done that on any automobile thermostat so I'm skeptical. If I do, what "stuff" would one use?
