YES...we did have a contest in 2004 to see which Forum Member could guess when we would have our 100,000th member join the iboats.com Forums. We started the contest when we hit our 50,000th member and the contest ran through the end of 2004. We had a large number of members submit their estimate of the exact date when they thought we'd hit 100,000 members.
The 1st prize is a $500.00 shopping spree in our iboats.com Marine MegaMall, and includes free shipping. The 2nd place is a $250.000 shopping spree and the 3rd place is $100.00 in shopping on our site.
We hit the 100,000th person on our Forum member's counter this morning...August 3, 2007. It happened at 6:05 Eastern Time. The person's user name is "rocky27" and, although he does not even know it yet, he will receive a free $50.00 gift certificate to shop in our Marine MegaMall for being number 100,000!
And YES...WE HAVE OUR CONTEST WINNERS!
In 1st place is user name "rcollins". His guess was 08/11/07...just 8 days off. He wins the $500.00 shopping spree on iboats!
In 2nd place is user name "macojoe". His guess was 07/24/07...just 10 days off. He wins the $250.00 shopping spree on iboats!
In 3rd place is user name "Summer Wind". His guess was 07/17/07...just 17 days off. He wins the $100.00 shopping spree on iboats!
And in 4th place, just one day further off from 3rd place, was "DamianR". His guess was 07/16/07...just 18 days off. So we have decided to give him a $50.00 shopping spree in on iboats as well!
To all the rest of you who participated, thank you. We hope it was fun. Now we need to shoot for the 200,000th member! I'll provide more on that in the coming weeks.
