Issue with Mariner 40hp Yamaha 2cyl style

Major short issue going on here in the wiring near the switch box etc...
Hard to find exact info on this motor do to it's the Yamaha style.
Does anyone have a wiring schematic with this yamaha type color scheme?
Merc scheme is different.
This motor is no# 6e9S10240940e
It has one coil for both cylinders.

At least put some correct battery cables on it,those doubled up might be cause of your trouble as could be shorted inside the insulation covering or wrong colors on battery. As pic shows red & grn to + and wht/blk to -....

Checked that already.
Those stickied do not cover this motor, it says 3cyl, 4cyl 45hp and up.
And the other links to manuals on rapidshare do not seam to be on rapidshare anymore.

This is a 2cyl 40hp Mariner, made by Yamaha for Mariner.

it's not my motor but one I am working on for a friend.

I believe the regulator may have a short in it.

Found what I needed in the Yamaha forum.
For future readers looking for manual, diagrams, etc... for the Mariner 40HP 2Cylinder, that says made in Japan on it.
