I am a first time boat owner. Just bought a '96 Four Winns 200 Horizon and have a couple of questions:

1. The trim indicator does not work. Where do i start?

2. Engine temp gauge seems to be sporadic. It runs around 120 even after running a while at higher rpm's. It will climb to 150 occasionally. Is this normal?

3. There is a slight knocking in the outdrive (transmission?) when in neutral. Seems to run fine in gear and under a load.

4. I know this is not an engine questions but the walk-thru glass does not shut because the opening isn't wide enough (I think from hanging in a sling lift for 11 years). Is there an easy fix?

Engine mod - 50FAPNCA, SER # T01290298
Transon *** mod # - 3868413, SER # T00367816
Drive Unit mod # - 3868388, SER # T00802946
5.0l fuel injected

Thanks for the help!

Replace the thermostat, it's probably sticking.

Probably backlast in the upper gears. Diesels do that a lot with the DP drives because of the roughness at idle.
However, your engine should run smooth enough to prevent that from happening. Have you checked the gear lube? Is this a single prop or DP?

Best to post #4 over in the Boat Topics and Questions forum.

#4,could be due to a soft floor or even worse, what is under the floor supporting everything.
