Hey everyone I have a 2009 90 four stroke outboard and currently trying to wire a tachometer. I spliced into the green wire supposed to be the tach signal for Yamaha in the main harness that goes to the throttle the control box and followed the directions on the tachometer instructions. Wondering what I am missing? Thanks

I have also hooked up the power and ignition power under the dash

I'm no expert but should the tach signal be gray? That is my understanding. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

It could be possibly, I was just going off Yamaha diagrams

I am incorrect. I was adding an hour meter to my boat today, and the tach signal is green, not gray. Trying to find wiring diagram for my 2022 F70AL. Newest I see is 2017.

Can't see it on the motor, not sure yet where to look. At the tach, I have a green, blue, yellow, and black. Not sure which tach I have, it does not appear to be Yamaha (p/n 780488PDNB)

Quick question though. Is this a digital tach, or analog, not refering to the analog dial? I do know on my 2022 F70LA the tach signal will not run an induction pick-up hour meter. I had to connect to the spark plug lead.
