I have a 1995 Mercruiser 3.0LX Ser#OF556012, Alpha One drive. I have no power to the dash. No gauges, blower, horn, lights, ignition etc. Troubleshooting using a test light, I have no power entering the fuse panel. I do have power to the starter, the slave solenoid and on either side of the 50amp breaker. Is there an inline fuse on the red/purple wire that brings power from the engine compartment main wiring harness to the fuse panel?

On many boats, the power for all those accessories does not come from the engine. Usually they come from a seperate fuse at the battery or battery switch.
Could even be a seperate panel. Depends on your boat.

Go up to the adults only sticky, and download the manuals for your engine and drive.
In the engine manual there is wiring diagrams that may help you. Since the gauges don't work, along with the accessories, but it still starts. Something isn't right.
Did this just happen, or did you buy a this boat with the problem.

Re: It must be a fuse..Right?

The boat is a Bayliner Capri 195. I've owned the boat for 10 years and it's been great.

I started it up to move it from one dock to another. Total running time 5 minutes. Next afternoon went to use the boat and nothing.
The engine doesn't start. Not a sound. no click. nothing.
I'll check out the wiring diagrams you referred to.

Thanks

probably corrosion.
not likely a fuse.

plus, Fuses don't cause electrical problems.

A blown fuse is the result of an electrical problem.

Don't know if you have the same set-up. But I recently had the same problem on my 08 Bayliner 3.0. There is a small inline 15A fuse on the back of the engine near the top. On mine it was one of those mini-fuses. The fuse had blown and I had no power ignition at all. Replaced the fuse and all was fine.

Re: It must be a fuse..Right?

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Well it wasn't a fuse.

Turns out that the posts on the back of the trim gauge had rubbed and frayed the red power wire going to one of the other gauges. That was enough to short out the system. Hopefully moved the bundle of wires to a better location and put some rubber caps on the ends of the posts on the gauges. She started right :)up and ran great.

Thanks again for the very fast responses.
