It was 7:30 at night. A cold dark rainy and windy night. Winds gusting up to 40 miles an hour.
I am sitting with my darling cuddled up on the couch looking for a new dog on her laptop.
When we hear the window rattle and a horrendous crash in the back yard.
So trying to be the man of the house I throw on my jacket and go outside.
Only to witness that my boat garage (one of those metal frames with the fitted tarps) has lifted up spun 90 deg and has done a quarter roll on top of my boat. :eek:again.
So I take it apart and throw one of the tarps across my boat to try and keep it dry. (knowing tomorrow morning it won't be covered)
The facia board on the side of the garage that it was attached to has been ripped from the garage.
As I said, It's dark and I'm not looking forward to seeing my Blue Water in the morning, But I will post pictures of the carnage in the morning.

Here's hoping, Todd.

TD and I basically do the same thing...... build a PVC frame onto the boat and tarp it as needed.

Sorry you had that happen ........ hope it works out.

Sorry it took so long to get back, But a friend came by and we drank away my sorrows.
It turns out that there is no damage to the boat that I can see yet.
And the garage is a total loss.

PS I have a wee headache this morning.

Good to hear there wasn't any damage to your boat.

On another thread the other day, I was mentioning to Puddlejumper how we haven't had any winds too severe yet.

Well Friday, a good westerly blew through town and picked up our truck canopy off the ground and flipped it over and busted the back window. :( It also ripped a couple of shingles off the roof.

I guess I jinxed myself.

Oh well, it was an old canopy that we got for $100 and the shingles were just below the ridgeline on one end of the roof so they were pretty easy to replace.

Maybe I was actually pretty lucky!:)

Re: It went bump in the night.

What i did was with a old umbrella holder for a picknick table, i bolted a 7 foot long pice of pvc pipe with a cap on top.

I taped carpet on top, put the thing in the middle of the boat and threw the tarp over the boat and tied it down. Around the boat now it looks like a big tepee.

No wind can blow it off.
