Its 3:00 AM and the telephone rings

The voice at the other end of the line said, sir the broken glass sensor alarm just went off at your place of business, the police are presently on their way over there, could you have someone meet them there?<br />30 mins later i got there and indeed someone had tried to break in, they apparently threw an abandoned shopping cart at the glass window, the alarm imediately went off and the poor excuse for pond scum took off.<br />They did not get in this time, but i'm still left with $600.00 worth of glass replacement costs, its now 3:45AM and i wish that i was still in bed instead of having to be here until i can get the glass replaced sometime later today.

I'm basically for lazer beams that cut them off at the knees, they're laying there when the cops come.....but that's just me....

The thought had crossed my mind <br />The officer on the scene told me that if the scum-bags get themselves injured or killed on my property due to traps set by me for what i consider to be protection or deterent against such crimes i would be held liable, even though the dirtbags were violating my rights.<br />Now ain't that some hot excrement

Your lucky he didn't cut himself on the broken glass. Knowing how todays justice system works, he probably could have sued you and won.

Unfortunately, their families do and they would probably win and put Darth out of business. <br /><br />I thought Arlington passed the measure whereby the police wont respond unless there is some to verify the break in?

I think that happens if there are frequent false alarms relating to ones premises.<br />There have been a number of smash and grab type of burglaries commited against many of the businesses in the shopping center where my shop is located, and an ever increasing number of this sort of crime through out the metroplex in the past year.
