I saw a robin in February and thought, nice, spring is on the way. Here in the Atlantic Canada region, seeing a robin means they are migrating back to the north from the south. But then I was told by an elderly woman that it probably was a winter robin which nests here all year around. It really brought me down but she was right. I'm ready to wave the white flag.
I consider it spring when it is +5 and I am standing on my front lawn in 2 ft of slushy snow. And the wind is blowing the dust off the road from all the winters sanding in my face, and I see a rain shower on the horizon coming my way!In Southern Ontario we don't look for the first robin any more. We consider the first sighting of a Harley Davidson to be more reliable.

......spring is only 'tickling' this area. We have no snow, which is not unusual in the northwest... and are temps are now hitting in the 10-15?c (50?f) range. When the sun is out is beautiful but when that rain sets in again....its a complete drag.
