Well I changed out the fuse panel last week end and everything works fine. Sorry there isn't much to discuss as it went good :joyous:
I went from the old glass type fuses to the newer push in type. I hope it solves my intermittent issues with power.

My storage is similar to Capt Sully's exept a lot taller. It is either 14 or 16 ft. at the
peak, let over from when we had the mo ho. That and a generic cover from Cabellas.
You all be sure to keep an out for cats, racoons, and outher critters what might be
looking for a nice dry place to winter over in. old jim

Here's the cover support structure I built using hi pressure PVC pipe. The top fittings I got from a canopy supply company. I wish I would have ordered steeper angle fittings to help prevent snow load.

On top I strapped down a standard tarp, then put my cover over all and strapped it down tight. Stays perfectly dry inside now. I left some open area at front and back so air can move through but no rain can get it even if blowing.

Cover support held up beautifully after the blizzard.

Things are finely starting to settle down a bit, Had some time to open up the controller and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Had to drill off the head of the stripped out screw head, Once it was apart a set of vice grips and it came right out, and I had new one`s to replace all of them. greased up all of the contact points and bushings and have it mostly all back to together except for one nylon bushing that goes in from the back and I was getting frustrated with it so I left it as is, and drained the UL oil and not one drop of water. and NO I didn't get pictures , my camera`s card slot broke, so I need a new one.

Well James, I'm doing my part to keep you from being too bored. The admiral looked out the bedroom window on December 26 and informed me the boat cover didn't survive the snowstorm. D'oh! I knew all that snow would be too much for it, but I forgot to knock it off. Just completely forgot. A new cover like that one is $600 and the snaps have to be installed after delivery. We're only keeping this boat another year so that won't be happening. I'm having the entire boat recovered this winter and the upholsterer is betting the cover just came apart on some seams. If so he can fix it, but if not I'm going to get a metal carport. They're the same price as an OEM cover.

That just plain sucks. And I sure hope he can. I still haven't gotten back to the controller to finish it up yet and I am down to 72 days till launch time. The way things are going it may be close.

Re: its getting borning some one needs to break something

Well I am sitting here looking out at 4 inches of snow and just waiting on it to warm up, A few days back had a unexpected 70 degree day come along so I pulled the LU to get it ready and now its sitting in a corner with a new impeller and a new water pump housing, pressure tested and filled with the synthetic LU oil ready to go. This has been a real long winter lots of cold weather. Glad I did the rebuild last winter.
The good news is its down to 40 days till launch. :D Still have the carb swap, changing it from a 9.9 to a 15, and of course the barrel testing to go yet. Muffs don't work on this one.

Finally got mine over to the uphostery shop and he said he'd be able to fix the cover. Sure was glad to hear that. Having all the seats recovered including replacing a couple of rotten bases for $1600. Went ahead and gave him $800 so he could get crackalackin'. Should have a nice comfy barge by spring.

I went with the plastic seat boxes on my new seats and have tried to use the PVC trim board I had left over from making shelves to raise things up and slow down water wicking. You may think about adding some on yours. But then I have carpet, next time around I will use the vinyl on the floor. I had all ready got it done before I joined iboats and learned better

Fortunately the boxes are plastic. There's only plywood under the upholstery (where the seat hinges to the base), but some of the screw holes are so soft the screws won't really stay put any more. Opening one without the requisite care causes the seat to fall on the deck LOL.

Re: its getting borning some one needs to break something

Well caught a break in the weather and finished up the LU and got it on and hooked up. I got one of those inspection camera and it sure helped out. The way mine is made the pump tube goes through a hole in a plate before it goes into the bottom of the power head and you cant see it, with the camera I could see it easy and it didn't take but a minute to get it in place, last year I had to take the motor off and turn it up side down and it still took 2 hours to get it in place.

Next is the carb swap out and I am done. 35 or less days till splash.

I heard confession is good for the soul,, how did that work out

Re: its getting borning some one needs to break something

Got the carbs swapped today and the motor all put back together, but it looked like it was going to rain so I didn't get into the drum testing. On my motor the water pump intake is under the cavitation plate so it is simply easier to use a drum and I like a drum better any way after a new water pump install because a set of muffs can give you a false water flow. I don't expect any problems with that and tomorrow should be decent temps so I may get that done. Down to 33 days so things are going along fine. I am hoping to get it on the slip early depending on the weather, March 15 is the official slip day but I can splash it any time. Last year was out fishing the last week of February and I hope to do that all over again.:bounce:

Well it passed the drum test, its pumping water fine and its running and got the mixture and idles more of less set, but the choke solenoid is bad and have one on order and its not going into and out of gear right. it may be just out of adjustment or a problem in the controller I had apart earlier will have to see when the weather gets better. Its been a long winter.

I broke the drain plugs off in both pontoons!
I drilled the holes out to 3/4", then smoothed
them out with a stone wheel. Went to the
auto parts store, and picked up a couple of
these. Fixed.

I'll keep a couple of spares on board.

It should. I was using an oil drain rubber plug on one
pontoon, and it didn't leak. (cheap wingnut type)
Once I sheared the plug on the other side, I decided
to go this route.

I went from this:

To this: (much more stout!)

I picked up the choke sel this morning and if the weather is as predicted I just may get mine splashed for the season Sunday. I am sure ready to start fishing.

Took the toon in for service today and to get ready for the season. Got a call about an hour later from the shop, the shop foreman says I can't pick up the boat today. Lower end full of water a seal was missing from the get go from the factory. They will need to replace the lower end under warranty. Asked the shop to have a sales staff regarding upgrading to a 60 or 75HP. The 40 HP is fine for me and the misses but would like to pull a tube.
