This fall I'm wanting to repaint my bass boat. Its a 1988 Procraft v1780. I think I've figured out the paint. I think I've figured out a plan of attack. What I can't figure out is; I want remove everything possible (motor, fuel, hatch covers, ect) and then pick the boat up off the trailer and rotate it and set it on like 6-8 saw horses. Anyone have a good idea of how to rotate a boat so the bottom is up? All help and ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,

Well I have an 18' fiberglass bowrider. I removed everything on it, like gas tank and motor. Then just call a bunch of BIG buddies and turn it on it's side then upside down. Make sure you have som cushioning under it when you rotate it.

Tires work pretty good to roll it over on. Put some old blankets on the tires to cut down on black marks. Good luck...

If you are outside, use a cable hoist to raise the bow a couple feet off the ground. Then a few buddies will have roughly half the weight to spin around. The bow will spin nicely in the bow eye. If you are doing this in a garage, I've swapped trailers alone by lag bolting a large barn door hinge to the garage door header. Fasten the cable hoist to the hinge and to the bow eye. Have your buddies hold up the stern while you pull out the trailer. Flip the boat and set it on jack stands or sturdy saw horses. Or build a frame with casters so you can move the boat around while you work on it.

Yeah,

the least amout of work in this the better. Call some buddies over and have them flip it for you and then pay each of them a cold beer (better make it two...LOL!)
