Boston snowfall is, as of yesterday's latest present, at more than double statitical average. My boat is buried so deep it will be July 4 before it sees the water. My cottage driveway (which I don't have plowed) has a 4' high snowbank of solid ice blocking the entrance.

My expectation are so low, I'd be happy to even see the boat for 5 minutes.

Adding to the discussion of how one justifies the cost of boating on pure fiscal responsibility has to be the insanity of a trying to deal with a 3-month season and having a huge asset sitting idle most of the time....

AAaaaaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh. I can't stand it any more......

March has to be the most depressing month for me. It seems like Its never going to stop snowing and then you get all these smart azzas from the south rubbing it in our faces. :D :D

Sorry swist, but your boat is not an asset. It is a depreciating liability. Just ask a banker or insurance agent.

I hear ya' man. I moved to RI from FL... We got the snow here too. Hang in there...it'll clear up. There's a brand new boat in the driveway as soon as I see 50 degree temp...

It's hell here!

We've had temperatures this winter as low as 17 degrees, with the sea only a couple of degrees warmer.

Which means that we're forced to insure our boats for a full twelve months each year, and take them out every week just to get our money's worth.

Adding to our woes - the water's tideless, which forces us to take the boat out at any time of the day or night.

When will I ever paint the house, or wash the car, or go to a movie, or .....

I’m in the same boat. Today's high was 37* and that has been warm compared to most. The scariest thing is when I take my boat to the gas station the first time this year. Should be about the time gas prices peak. I need a cheaper hobby.
