Jacking composite

My whole boat is composite and I need to replace my bunk boards. Now thinking of jacking from the side , remove the old and slide the other one in place . 16' 160 j....you think the hull is strong enough to be held up by a jack and not crumple?

Best/easiest:

Put the new bunk boards in the boat and strap them in.

tow the boat to the lake and launch it. Tie it to the courtesy dock.

Park the tow vehicle and trailer.

Carry the bunk boards back to the trailer.
Change bunk boards.

Back the trailer down the ramp and recover the boat.

Go pick up the old bunk boards for proper disposal.

Yea I know....got the itch do do it this week end.....good weather.

tav, take a long board and use that to jack one side with the jack against the board. Then remove one bunk, replace it and let the jack down again. The do the same thing on the other side. If you use a good long board that is solid and wide, you spread the weight over the larger area and therefore won't break through the hull. JMHO!

This^^^ IS the way to do the job!!!! I'd recommend using some of this to seal the bunk wood with before putting on new carpeting.
