Hello im here for some advise advise or recommendations.

I have a 18' panga with a 1975 25 hp johnson. Im considering on buying a jackplate to improve the overall performance, im getting around 12 mph max speed. I know the outboard may be small for the panga, and also seems like the cav plate should be raise 1" or so, the outboard have an hydrofoil installed. I have played with the trim settings of the outboard.

This is the jackplate im thinking on buying.

Would you guys recommend this? Is it worth it?

This is the actual configuration.

I doubt you will gain any performance with a jackplate. Normally. jackplates are on really fast boats, to get the gearcase out of the water drag. Lots of them use semi surface running props. If you have a high performance ($$) prop and can jack it up, you could get a minimal gain (say 1-2 mph) gain. It is just not feasible on the lower HP models.

Bigger question is , what prop is on it and whats your max rpm that you're seeing . Still a 18' boat with a 25 isnt going anywhere fast , regardless of prop . .
