Below you will find a link to a 1991 Hydra-sport 20DC with 91 Rude 200.
This is listed by a private seller. Reportedly (and I've seen better pictures than shown on the link) the boat is in good condition (one owner) as is the trailer. The engine also is in good condition. I could make a good buy on this boat and here is my thinking:
I don't really care for the engine. Those old 200 hp used a lot of gas. However, I could pay for a lot of gas with the cost savings on the boat. In addition, I would expect to replace the engine with a 150 opti or e-tec (maybe 175) (good used 2004 model for instance) in the coming year.
I would not buy another engine unless and until I could get a really good buy. But even then, along with the engine, I would have to pay for new set up and I don't have any idea what it would cost to rig it with new cables, gauges, etc.
So - how would performance with 2004 150/175 compare with 91 rude 200?
What factors am I not considering that I should?

Thanks for your input again, guys.
