Hi.. I thought I would give you people who just discovered you have broken Manifolds a little tip. About 7 years ago, I didn't winterize my boat properly (I was a rookie then) and so I discovered that my manifolds cracked over the winter. So, while I was calling around pricing manifolds I called one marina and this is what the guy told me: "Now, promise me you won't tell my boss about this.. but if you go to the store and get you some JB Weld, and sand down the manifolds real good, it should work great." So, I took his advice, and 7 years later, still not one ounce of water leaking through my manifolds. Just make sure you sand down the manifold real good, and apply a good bit of it. One of these days, when I hit the lottery I will buy new manifolds, but as for now JB weld does do the trick. Hope that helps any of you out there, so you don't have to spend $600 a pop for manifolds!

I'm sure it would work on the block. It would never hurt trying, you have nothing to lose. Make sure you sand the area real good, then go to town with the JB Weld. Hope it works, so you can get back out on the water! (Make sure you hook up the motor muffs to see if it works, you don't want a sunken' boat!!!!) :D :D :D

I used this stuff to fix a crack in the cylinder of a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine. I applied the steel part over the crack on the outside of the block. I did not use any hardener. I then heated it with a propane torch for two minutes. This fix never wore out, even with extreme pressures and heat in the cylinder. Try it.

lost a 1/4" water drain plug out of oil cooler once. didnt take more than 5 minutes to pump enough water in boat that i couldnt keep it on step. never should have put a galvanised iron plug in a brass cooler body but it was only temporary. 6 months. used a grease zirc to get home. put brass plug in next day. what do you put in that crack if it reopens?
