usually businesses have to petition to become dealers for brands. Most dealers are brand reps and not factory outlets, and tend to be local-ish to the manufacturing plant for logistics, transportation, and training

most pontoon manufacturers are in Indiana, so the dealers tend to be in the area from Minnesotta east to the mountains, and then south to Texas / Louisianna where a majority of pontoon customers are

Several States out west are not all that tax friendly to businesses based out of State.
In our case, logistics cost and "fees" had a significant impact on profitability. Opportunities didn't justify opening an in-State office to Service these customers

Most are far too Tax Friendly to Business. Businesses and their Parasitic Owners, should be paying for all the Infrastructure their Business require, not the General Population.
