Have a late 80s model Johnson 110 VRO, model J110TLCUR. Lower unit problem. Prop spins when in gear. Removed lower unit. Tried working the shift arm to engage the prop. No luck. Any suggestions? Can a lower be rebuilt easily?
After further review, it is the main shaft. Removed the impeller and found main shaft snapped in half. The lower unit actually shifts fine. The top of the shaft looks fine.
