Trying to change the thermostats on my Johnson 110 VRO bubble back....I can’t find the patience to try and work around the covers and line up springs etc.

my question is does it make more sense to pull the power head or cut an access panel and have it re welded back in?

I know the thermostats are my problem because with everything removed it doesn’t over heat. Originally with them in place it over heated.

many have suggested to just run it without thermostats.

If it is a fresh water motor I would remove the exhaust cover for more room to work.

that’s another thought I had but I didn’t want to open up another can of worms by attempting that.

Is that straight forward?

Just a bunch of bolts and 2 gaskets to deal with.----Not rocket science.
