Johnson 112 alarm won't quit

The alarm on my 112 sounds when I turn on the key and won't go out even when the motor isn't running and hasn't run for a while. I have unplugged both temp sensors and it still sounds off. Any clues?

about what year is this 112 and does it have system check and is it oil injected?

its a 94 motor and its a premix setup vs. oil injection. The horn used to sound when you first turned the key but would go right out. I guess that was the system check. I unplugged both temp sensors and the horn kept sounding.

if it was rigged as sytem check you will have a horn driver or 2" gauge with lights or a tach with lights.<br /> if it was rigged with the pre-95 stuff you will have a 3 wire self test horn in the control box. open the box and remove the tan lead. if the horn stops sounding test the harness for shorts to ground on the tan lead.
