wondering what is wrong when the key is turned there is a click at the motorbut the starter does not engage turn the key a few more times it engageswhat is the deal is my ignition swith going bad or the starter

Probably neither, EJW.<br /><br />Your symptoms are very common and almost always indicate a poor connection of a high current or battery cable.<br /><br />Disconnect all big wires at both ends. Clean and reattach. Give special attention to where the battery ground cable connects to the engine block.<br /><br />Let us know your results. :)

The click you hear is the solenoid. It sounds like you are not getting power to starter. to verify the solenoid, just put a jumper on the bottom post of solenoid, and just touch lead of jumper to top side of solenoid. If engine cranks, you have bad solenoid, if it don't, then you have wiring to look at.

well after looking at the motor connections loked good i jumped the soleniodand it cranked every time turn the key click well i guess i need a soleniod

well guys thanks for all of your help replaced the soleiod today starts great now jusr wanted to let you all know how it ended up<br />thanks again eric
