Johnson 12 hp motor

I was offered a Johnson 1980 12 hp long shaft for my sailboat <br />I never heard of a 12 hp motor from Johnson. How is it diff from the 9.9 or 15 hp models??

What is different about a commercial or military motor from a regular or civilian motor???

I am also curious what the diff is between a commercial and a military motor, Does anyone know the answer to that????

Not real sure on this but I was told that the pistons have a flat spot ground on them to drain water military submerg there motors alot also they don't hold up that well I think they were made for navy seals

We have had seals since 1960 they were called frogmen then<br />and that engine is a 1980
