Hey guys, im fairly new to the forums and have a few questions about this boat I have picked up recently. The boat is 1970's winner minikai. Its in good shape, the transom is a bit cracked so Im reinforcing it with steel plate, but other than that the boat is decent. The motor on the other hand has me asking questions. I dont know what year the motor is seeing as the serial number label is blank from being faded. From the pics online, i think it is between an 87 and 94, but if someone could give me another place to look to pinpoint the year that would be a good start. I cleaned the 4 carbs thismorning and put it back together, put the muffs on it and it fired right up. It is spitting lots of water out the pee hole but my main concern is that I only had it running in the driveway for about 5 minutes and the heads were pretty hot. I dont have a temp gauge but i do have a high end multimeter with a temp probe that i want to bring home from work to check the temp with. What is the operating temp supposed to be around? Also, i need to know what the compression is supposed to be. I dont think there is anything wrong with the motor but the temp of the heads just made me want to ask a few questions.
