Johnson 140 Looper VRO prop question

I've posted this question in the Johnson/Evinrude Troubles side...but this sounds more like the proper place. I have twin 140's (1986 variety) on a 24 Grady-White. I just bought new SST props (14.5 X 19) and I noticed that the left engine (counter-rotating) is easily doing the 6000 rpm WOT while I can't seem to get the right to go above 5500 WOT. I've got good compression on both sides and I've checked the throttle cable and throttle plates to make sure there even (they are now). I'm wondering if I need to change the pitch on the right engine so I can get the RPM's up. As is, the GPS says 5500 RPM'S on both engines moves me at 33 Knots. My spedo says seven MPH slower. Can I have two enignes and run two different pitch props without damaging anything? I'm thinking I should try 14.25 X 17...for the right engine, any thoughts? The motors run strong and I don't want to lug em and make more problems.

Thanks for the help.

Why don't you try reversing the wires to the two tachs (right engine to left tach), just to eliminate them as being a problem.
