Greetings fellow boaters and thankyou for past assistance with technical questions I have had. I am sure someone can help me out with this one,it has me stumped. I just got a johnson 140 for parts and want to use the t/t setup for another motor. When I hooked it up to power the motor works but no fluid. Put fluid in and triedagain worked great,BUT, the purge screw ,although tightened all the way was leaking. I then tried to remove screw to see if there was a washer that needed changing but it woudn't come out. I threaded out some but just turned when it got to a certain point. Is there something I don't know about for removal? Is it supposed to come out and washer replaceable? Or is screw perhaps stripped? Thanks.

There is ainternal circlip that prevents the screw from coming out,and the screw has a oring that likly has broken.Spray some cleaner into the area, you may see the clip.it need s the special circlip plyiers the tool has two points that fit into holes on the circlip,as you squeeze them the clip closes and comes ot freeing the screw to completly unscrew for new oring installition. Most auto parts stores will sell the circlip pliers with different pins for different size clips
