Got motor back running.runs good at an idle.but won't wants to die shortly after rpm's pick up.not sure if its getting enough gas to pick them up.any suggestions on tuning from here?

Does it have a high speed needle as well?

No just slow speed.i did notice the cam follower roller has a little wear on it wear it makes contact with the timing tab.could this be causing the carb butterflies not to open far enough and not allowing enough gas into the engine?

The amount of lift lost on the deteriorated follower is directly related to the amountt of wear--probably not a whole bunch. Check the routing of the spark plug wires. if they bind they will hinder the travel of the throttle to the stop. Make sure you dial in the follower first.
